Can I contact the Appeals Board?

Yes, of course. If the appellant has an attorney we recommend that the attorney handles the communication with the Board. Nevertheless, appellants are welcome to contact the Board. Due to confidentiality requirements and privacy considerations, information about cases is normally not provided over the phone. To obtain documents or other information related to their cases, appellants will need to visit our offices in most cases. Proper identification (normally a passport) shall be presented to the Board’s staff before information is provided.

The Board’s legal officers can be contacted by phone at 510 0510. For phone calls from abroad, the country code for Iceland is 354. Appellants can also contact the Board by e-mail (postur@knu.is).

Our webpage contains information about the average processing time of cases. If the question is about processing time, please consult that page before calling the Board.
